Seedance 2.5 generates 4 to 30 seconds with synced audio covering speech, sound effects and music, on by default[3]. Its distinguishing feature is reference capacity: up to 30 images, 10 videos, and 10 audio tracks in a single request, and audio-only input works[3]. If your Sora prompts leaned on input_reference for consistency, this is the model with the most room.

Rates: 480P $0.119/s, 720P $0.267/s, 1080P $0.462/s. Requests that include uploaded videos bill lower, at $0.072/$0.161/$0.276 respectively[3].

It is the most expensive per second in this group at matched resolution. You are paying for reference capacity and single-take length, so it earns its rate on shots that would otherwise need several generations and an edit.

Veo 3.1: strongest short-form, hard 8-second wall

Veo 3.1 runs 4, 6, or 8 seconds, up to 4K, with frame and reference modes[5]. For anyone coming off sora-2-pro at 1080p, the arithmetic is stark: $0.111/s with audio on veo3.1-fast-official against $0.70/s[5][6].

A billing detail that trips people up: Veo 3.1 also has per-generation tiers, billed per render rather than per second, at $0.081 (lite), $0.161 (fast) and $1.15 (quality) for 720p/1080p[5]. Kling 3.0: explicit audio pricing, multi-shot prompts

Rates: std 720p $0.077/s without audio, $0.11/s with. Pro 1080p $0.099/s without, $0.149/s with. 4K $0.369/s[7].

That transparency is useful beyond Kling. Audio is roughly a 43% premium at 720p and 51% at 1080p on this model, which is a reasonable prior for what the audio half of a Sora 2 generation was worth.

MiniMax H3: stereo audio and tight frame control

MiniMax H3 runs 4 to 15 seconds with first/last-frame control and 2K output with native stereo audio[8]. Most models in this comparison produce mono or do not state channel count, so if your output feeds a player where stereo matters, this is the one that says so. Sora 2's Batch rate is the cheapest cell in the table and no model here matches it[6]. If you built around Batch at $0.05/s, this migration costs you money and there is no way to present that otherwise. The row below it is the one that decides the question anyway.

Where audio pricing hides

Two of these models bill audio as a separate tier and four fold it into the base rate. That makes headline per-second numbers misleading in both directions.

Kling 3.0 at 720p is $0.077/s on paper, a shade over Wan 3.0 and comfortably under Sora 2's $0.10/s. Turn audio on and it becomes $0.11/s[7], more expensive than Sora 2 was. The comparison flips on a parameter that is easy to leave out of a spreadsheet.

The reverse trap: Seedance 2.5 has audio on by default[3], so its $0.267/s at 720p is an all-in number. Comparing it against a no-audio rate elsewhere overstates the gap. Match the audio setting before comparing anything.

Honest limitations
