Krea AI Pricing: Plans, Compute Units, API Costs and Is It Free?

Krea AI pricing explained: Free, Basic, Pro and Max plans, how compute units work, the separate Krea API price list, refunds, and where reAPI costs less per request.

Krea AI pricing has two separate parts. The Krea app sells plans with a monthly allowance of compute units, and each image or video spends units. The Krea API is billed from a separate dollar balance with a fixed price per generation, and Krea says a Pro or Max app subscription does not cover it[1][2].

We read Krea's plan page, its documentation and its API price list on October 5, 2026, and set the API prices next to reAPI's model pages for the models both sell. reAPI is our product, so read the reAPI columns knowing the source. Krea's API was cheaper than reAPI on Seedance 2.5, and we say so below.

TL;DR

  • Plans: Free gives 100 compute units a day. Basic is $9 a month for 5,000 units, Pro $35 for 20,000 and Max $105 for 60,000, with 40% off on yearly billing (Pro $21 and Max $63 a month)[1].
  • Units: monthly units on Basic, Pro and Max do not roll over. Extra unit packs expire after 90 days[1].
  • API: pay-as-you-go from a dollar balance with a $5 minimum top-up, and failed or cancelled jobs are not billed[3].
  • Where reAPI costs less: Seedance 2.0 is 44–50% lower, Seedance 2.0 Fast 51–53%, Seedance 2.0 Mini 75–76%, Nano Banana Pro 80–89% and Nano Banana 2 65–68% lower than Krea's API price[4][6][7].
  • Where Krea costs less: Seedance 2.5 on Krea's API was below reAPI's standard rate at 480p, 720p and 1080p, though reAPI's Eco tier is lower at 720p and 1080p[4][8].

How Krea AI pricing works

Every app plan is a monthly pool of compute units. Krea's plan page also translates the pool into examples, so you can see roughly what it buys[1].

PlanMonthly priceCompute unitsKrea's example
Free$0100 a day—
Basic$95,000 a month64 Nano Banana 2 images or 20 Seedance 2.0 videos
Pro$35 ($21 billed yearly)20,000 a month257 Nano Banana 2 images or 83 Seedance 2.0 videos
Max$105 ($63 billed yearly)60,000 a month771 Nano Banana 2 images or 250 Seedance 2.0 videos

Krea's model guide lists approximate unit costs per generation, such as about 100 units for a Nano Banana Pro image, about 50 for Nano Banana 2 and about 300 for a Seedance 2.0 video[5]. The plan examples imply different figures, about 78 units per Nano Banana 2 image and 250 per Seedance 2.0 video, so the two Krea pages likely assume different settings; treat both as rough guides. Basic includes selected video models only; Pro and Max include all of them. Paid plans include a commercial license[1].

Is Krea AI free?

Partly. The Free plan gives 100 compute units a day with no credit card, access to real-time models and the image and video models, and the allowance refills daily[1]. At about 100 units for a Nano Banana Pro image, that is roughly one premium image a day[5]. The API has no free tier; it starts with a top-up of at least $5[3]. On reAPI, eligible new accounts may receive promotional test credits, with no card required.

Krea API pricing

The Krea API is pay-per-generation with no monthly minimum or seat fees, and its billing is separate from app plans[2]. You top up a workspace balance with preset amounts from $10 to $100 or a custom amount from $5 to $10,000, and only completed jobs are charged[3]. Krea's own image models start at $0.015 per image, and third-party models have fixed prices per image or per second[2].

Krea API prices compared with reAPI

Krea prices Seedance per second with a lower rate when a reference video is attached. The table uses its rates without a reference video, which matches text and image input, and reAPI's standard text-and-image rates[4][6][7].

A 10-second Seedance 2.0 clip at 1080p is about $6.83 on Krea's API and $3.83 on reAPI. For images, 1,000 Nano Banana Pro renders at 4K come to $300 on Krea's API and $33 on reAPI; Nano Banana 2 and Seedance 2.0 Mini show a similar pattern[4][6][7].

Seedance 2.5 goes the other way. Krea's API listed $0.1027, $0.2311 and $0.5686 per second for 480p, 720p and 1080p, below reAPI's standard $0.119, $0.267 and $0.643, so it is not in the table. reAPI's Seedance 2.5 Eco tier, at $0.201 per second for 720p and $0.347 for 1080p, is lower than Krea at those two resolutions; Eco is a separate tier, so test it on your own prompts first[4][8].

Frequently asked questions

Is Krea AI completely free?

No. The Free plan is free with a daily allowance of 100 compute units, enough to try the models, but larger volumes need a paid plan or the paid API[1][3].

Is Krea AI real?

Yes. Krea is an operating company with public plans, documentation, an API and a commercial license on paid plans; its plan page says it is "Trusted by 40M subscribers"[1]. As with any paid tool, start with a monthly plan or a small API top-up before you commit.

How do I unsubscribe from Krea AI?

Open the Billing page in your Krea settings, go to the Stripe customer portal and cancel the subscription there. Downgrading to the Free plan is treated the same as cancelling[9].

Can I get a refund from Krea AI?

Krea's refund rules require an active paid subscription and low usage in the current month: under 650 compute units and fewer than 20 generations. If you qualify, the refund is offered in the Stripe portal when you cancel[9].

What is better than Krea AI?

It depends on what you use it for. Krea's app is strong for real-time generation, its own Krea 2 models and a visual workflow editor. For API access to Seedance 2.0, Nano Banana Pro and Nano Banana 2, the table above shows lower per-request prices on reAPI[4][6][7].

Choosing between Krea AI pricing and reAPI

Krea is a good fit if you want its app, real-time tools and in-house models, and its API beat reAPI's standard rates for Seedance 2.5 at the tiers checked. For Seedance 2.0, Fast and Mini, Nano Banana Pro and Nano Banana 2, reAPI listed prices 44% to 89% below Krea's API on October 5, 2026. Run the same prompts on both and compare the totals before you move a budget.
