Higgsfield AI Pricing: Plans, API Costs and Is It Free?
Higgsfield AI pricing explained: subscription plans, credit costs per model, the new pay-as-you-go API, whether Higgsfield is free, and where reAPI costs less.
Higgsfield AI pricing has two separate parts. The app at higgsfield.ai sells monthly or annual plans that come with a fixed number of credits, and each model spends a different number of credits per image or per few seconds of video. Since 2026 Higgsfield also sells a developer API that bills each generation in dollars, with no subscription[1][2].
We read both price lists on October 5, 2026 and set them next to reAPI's model pages for the models both platforms sell. reAPI is our product, so read the reAPI columns knowing the source. Where Higgsfield is cheaper, we say so and leave it out of the tables rather than pick only the rows that suit us.
TL;DR
- Plans: Starter is $19 a month for 270 credits, Plus $47 a month billed annually ($59 monthly) for 1,200 credits, and Ultra $99 a month billed annually ($129 monthly) for 3,000 credits[1].
- Free: there is a Free tier for limited use, but no plan with free monthly credits. The API's launch offer gives $15 of balance after you verify a business email and add a card[1][2].
- API: pay-per-generation in dollars. Seedance 2.5 starts at $0.144 per second and Seedance 2.0 at $0.0985 per second after Higgsfield's launch discount[3].
- Where reAPI costs less: Seedance 2.5 and 2.0 are 17–28% lower on reAPI than Higgsfield's discounted API price, and Nano Banana Pro is 55–75% lower than its cost inside an Ultra plan[1][3][4][6][9].
- Where Higgsfield costs less: its API is cheaper than reAPI on several Kling, Wan and MiniMax tiers, and an annual Ultra plan that you use in full works out cheaper than reAPI's standard Seedance 2.0 rates[1][3].
How Higgsfield AI pricing works
The subscription is a credit allowance. A plan adds the same number of credits every month, and the pricing page lists what each generation spends: about 22 credits for a 5-second Seedance 2.0 clip at 720p, about 45 at 1080p and about 110 at 4K, and 2 credits for a Nano Banana Pro image (4 at 4K)[1]. Those figures are marked with "~" on the page, so the exact spend can vary.
| Plan | Price per month | Credits per month | Cost per credit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $19 | 270 | about $0.070 |
| Plus | $47 billed annually, $59 monthly | 1,200 | about $0.039 annually |
| Ultra | $99 billed annually, $129 monthly | 3,000 | about $0.033 annually |
Ultra can also be raised to 6,000 or 9,000 credits a month. Starter only includes Seedance 2.0 Fast and Seedance 2.0 Mini, while Plus and Ultra include all Seedance models[1]. Prices exclude VAT and local taxes.
The cost per credit falls as the plan grows, but only if you use the whole allowance. Credits you do not spend in a month are not worth anything to you, so the real price per generation depends on how much of the plan you actually use.
What does "unlimited" mean on Higgsfield?
Plus and Ultra advertise unlimited generations for a short list of models, such as 7 days of unlimited Kling 3.0 and Nano Banana 2. Higgsfield's pricing page adds two conditions: unlimited models and free generations work only on higgsfield.ai, not through MCP, CLI, Canvas or Supercomputer, and unlimited usage can be slowed at peak times[1].
Users have complained about how this works in practice. One r/generativeAI post from March 2026, with over 200 comments, describes being throttled and then locked out of "unlimited" until paying more[7]. An August 2026 post in r/aivideomaking says a 1-day or 7-day unlimited Seedance 2.5 pass stopped working after about 10 videos[8]. These are individual reports, but they match the conditions Higgsfield itself prints. If you need a predictable number of videos, budget in credits or per-second prices, not in "unlimited".
Higgsfield API pricing
The Higgsfield API is a separate product for developers. It bills each successful generation from a prepaid balance, lists a price for every model, and has no subscription or seat fee[2]. Requests that fail or are blocked by moderation are not charged, credits expire one year after they are added, and output files are kept for at least seven days[5].
Most API prices on October 5, 2026 carried a launch discount. Higgsfield says new accounts get 15% off sale models and can pick three models for discounts of up to 75%[2]. For Seedance, its price list showed rates 30% below list price and marked 30% as the maximum discount for those models, so the figures below are the lowest Seedance price it offered[3].
Seedance prices on the Higgsfield API and reAPI
Both platforms bill Seedance per second of output. The table uses text-to-video and image-to-video rates, because jobs with reference videos are priced differently on each side. Higgsfield's price list gives each Seedance mode a rate at its lowest and highest resolution, so those are the tiers compared[3].
| Model and resolution | Higgsfield API (discounted) | reAPI | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seedance 2.5, 480p | $0.144/s (list $0.2057/s) | $0.119/s | −17% |
| Seedance 2.5, 1080p | $0.7961/s (list $1.1373/s) | $0.643/s | −19% |
| Seedance 2.0, 480p | $0.0985/s (list $0.1407/s) | $0.072/s | −27% |
| Seedance 2.0, 4K | $1.0887/s (list $1.5552/s) | $0.780/s | −28% |
A 10-second Seedance 2.5 clip at 1080p comes to about $7.96 on the Higgsfield API at its discounted rate and $6.43 on reAPI[3][4]. On the Seedance 2.0 page, reAPI also lists an Eco tier that is lower again, for example $0.572/s at 4K[6]. Eco is a separate tier, so test it on your own prompts first.
Inside a Higgsfield plan the picture is different. If you spend every credit of an annual Ultra plan, Seedance 2.0 works out to roughly $0.15 per second at 720p, $0.30 at 1080p and $0.73 at 4K, which is lower than reAPI's standard rates of $0.154, $0.383 and $0.780. reAPI's Eco tier, at $0.113, $0.281 and $0.572, is lower than the plan at all three[1][6]. The plan only beats reAPI's standard tier, and only if you use the whole allowance every month.
Nano Banana Pro on a Higgsfield plan and reAPI
Higgsfield's API price list does not include Nano Banana Pro, so the comparison uses its plan cost: 2 credits per image, or 4 at 4K, at the Plus and Ultra annual cost per credit[1]. reAPI charges per image on its Nano Banana Pro page[9].
| Resolution | Higgsfield Ultra (annual) | Higgsfield Plus (annual) | reAPI | Difference vs Ultra |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1K / 2K | about $0.066 | about $0.078 | $0.030 | −55% |
| 4K | about $0.132 | about $0.157 | $0.033 | −75% |
A batch of 1,000 4K images uses 4,000 credits on Higgsfield, more than an Ultra plan's monthly 3,000, and costs $33 on reAPI.
Frequently asked questions
Is Higgsfield AI free?
Not in the sense of a free monthly allowance. The pricing page shows a Free tier for limited use, and paid plans include some free generations on selected models, but credits come with Starter, Plus or Ultra[1]. The API has no free tier either; its launch offer adds $15 of balance once you verify a business email and add a card[2]. On reAPI, eligible new accounts may receive promotional test credits, with no card required.
How much does Higgsfield cost per month?
$19 for Starter, $47 for Plus and $99 for Ultra when billed annually, or $59 and $129 for Plus and Ultra billed monthly. Starter is the same price either way[1]. Business plans for teams are priced per seat[1].
Does Higgsfield have API access?
Yes. The Higgsfield API launched as a pay-as-you-go service with a dashboard, Python and TypeScript SDKs, polling and webhooks. Requests authenticate with a key ID and secret, and generation is asynchronous[2][5].
Is the Higgsfield API free?
No. The playground is free to try, but every generation through the API is billed from your balance. The $15 launch credit is the only free amount it describes[2].
Is Higgsfield AI legit?
Higgsfield is an operating company with public pricing, terms and API documentation, and its API does not charge for failed or moderated requests[1][5]. The doubts people raise are about billing practices, mainly "unlimited" plans that slow down or stop, and pressure to commit to a full year[7][8]. A June 2026 thread titled "Is higgsfield actually legit now?" shows buyers still asking this before they sign up[10]. Start with monthly billing or the API balance before you pay for a year.
Is Higgsfield AI safe?
The API documentation tells developers to keep the key secret on the server and never in browser or mobile code, and says output files may be removed after seven days, so download what you need[5]. Those are its own statements, not an independent audit.
Higgsfield AI pricing or reAPI: which fits
Higgsfield suits creators who want an app with presets and a monthly allowance they will fully use, and its API is competitive on Kling, Wan and MiniMax. For Seedance 2.5, Seedance 2.0 and Nano Banana Pro, reAPI's per-request prices were lower on October 5, 2026, with no plan to fill. If you are weighing other options too, see our Higgsfield alternatives comparison.
