The API changelog is the most useful one to watch. It is more detailed than the release notes and lists every new endpoint, so a Kling 4.0 API will almost certainly show up there first for developers.

How much of the Kling 4.0 leak to trust
My read is that the models are real and the numbers are provisional.
The case for the leak being real is the screenshots. The model picker lists the current lineup in order, VIDEO 3.0 Omni, 3.0, 3.0 Turbo, O1, and 2.6, each with its one-line description, and a separate screenshot shows a Long Video mode whose prompt box reads "generate videos up to 120s"[5]. Faking all of that would be possible but pointless.
The case for caution is the source's own language. Mars writes "preliminary settings indicate" throughout, flags 8K image output as unconfirmed, and says no prices are confirmed[4]. In a separate post, Mars wonders whether the two models are connected to Garnet, Tango, or Waltz, three anonymous video models seen in testing, and says that cannot be confirmed[7].
So treat 30 seconds, 10 keyframes, and 15 references as likely targets that can still move. Don't treat them as the spec you build against, and don't read the "3 trials left" badge as a Kling 4.0 release date.

Two things stand out. Length is the headline change: the leaked settings double the single-clip cap, then add a 120-second mode on top. And 4K is missing. Kling announced native 4K output on April 23, 2026[2], but none of the leaked Kling 4.0 settings list it. That could change before launch, or 4K could arrive later, the way it did for 3.0.

Kling's official timeline this year gives a sense of how often something new ships. It does not give you a Kling 4.0 release date, and I'm not going to invent one.

Since February, Kling's release notes show a new video release every one to two months. The gap since June 17 is now more than three months, the longest this year. Combined with models that are already selectable in the creator app, that points to a launch that is close. Close is not a date, though.
What to do before Kling 4.0 ships
If you are building on Kling today, build on Kling 3.0. It is live, documented, and covers text-to-video, image-to-video with first and last frames, multi-shot, native audio, and 4K[6]. On reAPI, it runs on the same /api/v1/videos/generations endpoint that Kling 4.0 will use, so moving later means changing the model id from kling-3-0 to kling-4-0 and adjusting fields to whatever Kuaishou finally ships[8].
Two practical notes. Don't design a pipeline around 30-second clips or 10 keyframes yet, since those numbers are still provisional. And if you need clips longer than 15 seconds right now, you have to stitch them, because no model on Kling's API capability map generates more than 15 seconds in one request[6].
