What Is Dola AI? Who Runs It, Its Terms and Seedance 2.5

Dola is an AI assistant at dola.com that ByteDance's Seedance 2.5 page links to. Who operates it, what its terms allow, how it uses your data, and the API route.

What Is Dola AI? Who Runs It, Its Terms and Seedance 2.5

Dola is an AI assistant app at dola.com, with a chat mode, a "work" mode for longer tasks and an AI creation area. Its terms of service say Dola "is provided by SPRING (SG) PTE. LTD., a Singapore company", and that its services "are provided for private and non-commercial use".[1] One common route in is ByteDance's Seedance 2.5 model page, whose consumer button, "Try Dola", opens dola.com/chat.[2]

That link explains much of the search interest in Dola. This guide covers what the app is, who runs it, what its terms and privacy policy say about your content, and the route to use Seedance 2.5 commercially, based on Dola's own pages checked on November 4, 2026.

What Dola does

Dola's web app opens on a chat box asking what it can help with, with separate entries for a new conversation, a new work task and AI creation.[3] Its terms also include a section titled "Third Party LLMs (Large Language Models) and Services".[1]

The Seedance connection is specific. ByteDance's Seed team publishes Seedance 2.5, its video model, and the model's official page offers two buttons: "Try Dola" for consumers and "Try in Playground" on BytePlus for developers.[2] If you came to Dola to make Seedance videos without writing code, that is the intended path. ByteDance's launch announcement also names Jimeng AI and Doubao Pro among the platforms where Seedance 2.5 rolled out.[4]

The routes have moved since launch. ByteDance's July 31, 2026 announcement said Seedance 2.5 was "rolling out on Jimeng AI, Doubao Pro, and other platforms, with API access coming soon via BytePlus ModelArk", and gave the steps as Video Generation, then Select Seedance 2.5, in each app.[4] By November 4, 2026, the model page itself pointed consumers to Dola and developers to the BytePlus playground.[2] If an older guide sends you somewhere else, check the current page.

What you can make with Seedance 2.5

Seedance 2.5 is a video model that generates 4 to 30 seconds per request with synced speech, sound effects and music. Through reAPI's API it runs in five modes: text-to-video, image-to-video, first and last frame, multimodal reference with up to 30 images, 10 videos and 10 audio tracks, and prompt-driven video editing.[6] Which of these the consumer app exposes, and with what limits, is decided inside the app; we could not check without logging in.

Who runs Dola

According to its legal pages:[1][5]

  • Operator and data controller: SPRING (SG) PTE. LTD., with a registered address in Singapore, or one of its affiliates.
  • GDPR representatives: Cosmo Technology Private Limited in the United Kingdom, and Mikros Information Technology Ireland Limited for the EEA and Switzerland.
  • Document dates: terms last updated September 4, 2026; privacy policy effective December 17, 2025 and updated July 31, 2026.
  • Contact: [email protected] for the service, [email protected] for privacy questions.

What Dola's terms say about your content

Four points in the terms are worth knowing before you rely on the app:[1]

  • Age: you must be at least 13, and the minimum can be higher where local rules require it.
  • Ownership: you own your input, subject to the license you grant Dola, and Dola says "we do not claim ownership of the Output".
  • Use: the services are for "private and non-commercial use".
  • Restrictions: you may not scrape output to train an AI model, and content that impersonates a real person must be labeled "unofficial" or "parody" unless you have that person's explicit consent.

The non-commercial line is the one that matters for businesses. Not claiming ownership of output is different from permitting commercial use of the service, so a brand making ads should not assume a consumer app covers it.

How Dola uses your data

The privacy policy lists "training and improving AI models" among the purposes for which it uses information, alongside research and developing new features. It says personal information "may be stored on a secure server located outside of the country where you live" and transferred internationally, and that data is kept for as long as necessary for the stated purposes.[5] You can delete your account from the settings page or by emailing support, and the terms warn that deletion is permanent.[1]

Depending on where you live, the policy says your rights may include accessing, deleting, transferring or correcting your personal information, objecting to some processing and complaining to a regulator.[5] The terms also allow registration by phone number, with one account per number.[1]

Keep confidential work, customer data and unreleased material out of any consumer AI app whose policy allows model training, unless you have checked for an opt-out.

Using Seedance 2.5 commercially

For commercial video, the API route avoids the consumer terms. ByteDance's official developer route is BytePlus, linked from the same Seedance 2.5 page.[2] Third-party APIs publish per-second rates:

Route480p720p1080p
reAPI standard tier$0.119/s$0.267/s$0.643/s
TokLab$0.1026/s$0.2307/s$0.5672/s

Rates for requests without video input, from each pricing page on November 4, 2026.[6][7] Read each provider's terms for generated output before publishing commercial work.

Can I use Dola for commercial work?

Its terms say the services are for private and non-commercial use. For commercial projects, use an API with commercial terms.[1]

How old do you have to be to use Dola?

At least 13, or older where local rules require it.[1]

Choosing between Dola and an API

Dola is the consumer door to tools like Seedance 2.5: quick, no code, and governed by consumer terms that rule out commercial use. For products, client work or anything you will publish commercially, call the model through an API instead. Seedance 2.5 on reAPI bills per second from one balance, and our Jimeng vs Seedance API guide compares the app and API routes in China.
