Producer AI Is Now Google Flow Music: What Changed and Where to Go
Producer AI now redirects to Google Flow Music. The timeline from Google Labs to Lyria 3.5, what the app does, its API route and other AI music options.

Producer AI still exists, under a new name. The address producer.ai now redirects to flowmusic.app, where the product is called Google Flow Music.[1] Google brought ProducerAI into Google Labs on February 24, 2026, referred to it as "Google Flow Music (formerly ProducerAI)" by May, and moved it to the Lyria 3.5 music model in July.[2][3][4]
If you are looking for the old app, it is the same idea with Google's models behind it: you describe a song in a chat and refine it until it sounds right. If you came for something it never offered, such as an API you can call from your own product, the options are different. Both are covered below.
Producer AI timeline
| Date | What happened | Source |
|---|---|---|
| February 24, 2026 | ProducerAI joins Google Labs, using Gemini, Lyria 3, Veo and Nano Banana | Google[2] |
| May 6, 2026 | Google describes "Google Flow Music (formerly ProducerAI)", now on Lyria 3 Pro, and partners with Believe and TuneCore | Google[3] |
| July 29, 2026 | Lyria 3.5 launches in Google Flow Music | Google[4] |
| November 4, 2026 | producer.ai returns a 301 redirect to flowmusic.app | Our check[1] |
At the February launch Google said every ProducerAI output carries SynthID, its imperceptible watermark for AI-generated content.[2] The May post was written by Flow Music's group product manager, who describes the origin plainly: "As musicians, my bandmates and I started Google Flow Music (formerly ProducerAI)."[3]
What Google Flow Music does now
The flowmusic.app homepage describes these features, checked on November 4, 2026:[1]
- Songs from a chat. "Chat with Producer just like you're in a studio" to create full-length songs with vocals, using Lyria 3.5.
- Music videos. Videos made with Google's Veo model, where you choose the characters and look.
- Built tools. A "vibe-code" space for audio plugins, music games and custom DAWs, plus an option to make and download a plugin.
- Editing. Remixing your audio, audio effects and stem splitting.
- Sharing. Playlists, publishing songs and following artists.
On pricing, the page says "free to start, no credit card required" and lists daily credits. It does not publish a full plan table, so check inside the app before planning a large project.[1]
On ownership, Google's May post says "Google doesn't claim ownership of the original content generated with Flow Music."[3] Read the current terms of service before using songs commercially, since this article does not cover them.
What Lyria 3.5 changed
Google's July 29 announcement lists four improvements over the previous model:[4]
- Musicality: richer, more complex melodic structures that sound more natural.
- Lyrics: higher-quality lyrics with better prompt adherence and awareness of song structure.
- Vocals: more expressive, emotionally nuanced vocals and improved pronunciation.
- Control: easier control over tempo and duration.
Tempo and length control matter most for anyone who used the old app to make tracks for video, where a song has to match a cut. Google gives no benchmark figures for these changes, so treat them as the vendor's description.
Producer AI as an API
Flow Music is an app, not a developer API. The model behind it is available separately: Google's Gemini API lists lyria-3.5, described as its flagship model for full-length songs, plus lyria-3-clip-preview for clips up to 30 seconds and the older lyria-3-pro-preview.[5] Google prices Lyria 3.5 at $0.08 per full song and the 30-second Clip preview at $0.04, with no free tier for either.[6]
That gives developers a direct route to the same model family, without the chat interface, the music-video tools or the community features.
Producer AI alternatives for apps and APIs
If you want an AI song generator you can call from code, three routes are worth comparing:
| Option | What you get | Published price |
|---|---|---|
| Google Lyria 3.5 (Gemini API) | Full-length song generation | $0.08 per song[6] |
| Suno V6 on reAPI | Two complete takes per request, lyrics written or supplied, plus extend, cover and stem tools | $0.066 per request (2 tracks)[7] |
| Mureka V9 on reAPI | Lyrics of up to 3,000 characters turned into a produced song; 1 to 3 songs per request in mp3, wav or flac | $0.060 for 1 song, $0.099 for 2, $0.149 for 3[8] |
Prices were checked on November 4, 2026. Suno V6 offers three variants per request, V6, V6 Mini and V6 Wild, and returns two takes with separate track IDs that the editing operations use.[7] Mureka V9 accepts an optional style prompt of up to 1,024 characters and reference, vocal or melody IDs.[8]
We have not run a listening comparison between Lyria 3.5, Suno V6 and Mureka V9, so this table compares access and price, not sound. A fair test keeps the lyrics fixed. Suno V6's custom mode sings your text verbatim and lets you set style, title and length, and Mureka V9 takes up to 3,000 characters of lyrics, so the same verse and chorus can go to both.[7][8] Listen for vocal clarity, whether the structure follows your sections, and how often you need a second take.
FAQ
Is Producer AI free?
Google Flow Music, the current name, is "free to start" with no credit card and daily credits, according to its homepage. It does not publish a full price list on that page.[1]
Did Google buy Producer AI?
Google's February 24, 2026 post says ProducerAI "is joining Google Labs", and later posts call the product Google Flow Music, formerly ProducerAI.[2][3]
Which model does Google Flow Music use?
Lyria 3.5 since July 29, 2026, according to Google's announcement and the app's homepage. Earlier it ran on Lyria 3 at the February launch and Lyria 3 Pro by May; music videos use Google's Veo model.[1][2][3][4]
Can I still log in at producer.ai?
The domain redirects to flowmusic.app, so you sign in there.[1]
Choosing after the Producer AI change
For making songs by chatting with a model, Google Flow Music is the direct continuation of the original app. For building music generation into an app, the choice is between Google's own Lyria 3.5 API and other song models: on reAPI, Suno V6 and Mureka V9 run on the same key and balance as the platform's image, video and text models.
